Mastacembelus Favus (Ikan Tilan)

Scientific name: Mastacembelus favus

Common name: Tire Track Eel

Group: Other fishes

Habitat: Southeast Asia; China, Pakistan, India, Thailand

Size: 70-90 cm

Biotope: Inhabits in moving water with a soft riverbed.

Social behavior: They are generally peaceful and shy. They can get territorial and
aggressive with their own kind.

Diet: Carnivorous; all type of live foods: Tubifex, Daphnia, Cyclops, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae.

Breeding: Tire Track Eel has not been bred in captivity.

Tank: Minimum 550 litres

Population: 1-2 fishes for 550 litres

Decoration: Use sand or fine garvel substare in their aquarium, so they can burrow into it. Make sure they have plenty of hiding places.

Temperature: 22-27°C

pH: 6,5-7,5

Hardness: <15NK°

Lifespan: 8-10 years
